Meet our Dulles Trainer

Lauren Bolger

CGC Evaluator/ABC-DT

Lauren bases her training methodology on what will provide the best quality of life for the pet and owner she is working with.  She is well versed in a variety of different training schools of thought and prides herself on being able to adapt to each family’s individual challenges. Lauren’s core philosophy is strong communication between a handler and their dog, and building on that foundation towards your training goals. Celebrating the big victories as well as the little ones is part of the “everything is a training moment” mantra that she believes in.

Lauren is a lifelong dog lover whose idea of a perfect day is doing lots of fun things outdoors with dogs. Her family grew up breeding dogs, so she has been surrounded by them for as long as she can remember. She has experience in basic obedience, agility, dock diving , and various other dog sports. She also has worked with many dogs with varying levels of behavioral issues such as separation anxiety, on-leash reactivity, and fear/aggression towards dogs and humans. Her dog Bonnie is a Labrador Retriever who is the life of the party and hasn’t met a dog that she didn’t get along with.

I highly recommend Olde Towne Pet Resort, especially if you’re looking for training! I brought my 4 year old beagle for the week long stay and train (it was her first time being trained) and it has made a world of difference. I was a little nervous to be leaving her for that long at first, particularly because of some concerns I had with her being around other dogs, but the trainers sent me several videos of her each day to demonstrate her progress. This not only put my mind at ease, but it was so helpful when it came to me carrying over all the techniques when the week was over. Now I feel confident taking my dog to the dog park, and she’s walking so much better on the leash!

Rufus had a great two week board and train at Olde Towne Pet Resort in Bethesda. We handed over a 4 year old rescue golden retriever with no manners and got back a dog that returns to us on voice commands, knows “down” and “place” and “off” and is much more manageable on a walk. We have work to do as well, as pet parents, but we are well on our way to being a much happier, healthier family who enjoys this big Red Dog.
